Prior to commencing use of the facility, investigators are encouraged to meet with the facility manager to discuss experiment plans.  As the facility is now offering sample preparation as an additional service, investigator involvement can range from non existent to very “hands on”.  Investigators planning to use the benchtop flow cytometers are encouraged to learn the operation of the instrument; training is provided.  For those who are unable to do so, data collection will be performed by the facility personnel.  It is the responsibility of the Core lab to perform instrument quality control and maintenance.  However, each investigator is responsible for the quality control of the application being run, review of the data produced, and ultimately, the final data analysis.  Investigators wishing to initiate a flow cytometry based project should contact the core facility by e-mailing, jmarvin@cores.utah.edu.
