• Thousands of dollars every year are debated and lost over not understanding the new Flowjo Portal system so please read carefully. The Flow Core gets a bill for about $40,000 every year that we have to recoup based on portal registrations.
  • FlowJo Portal is the username/password-based licensing system that allows users to authenticate Flowjo on their computers. Users enter their unique credentials to log in to FlowJo Software on up to 4 computers. Flowjo can then be used on one of these computers at a time (think office and home computers for example)
  • Individual labs might also be interested in having a “shared computer”. This is Flowjo tied to a specific computer HWA and anybody with a free or paid for portal account can use that computer/Flowjo.
  • I will occasionally deactivate accounts that look like they have not been used in a while. If you think that happened to you just send us an email at flowcytometry@cores.utah.edu and we can generally update that in a matter of minutes.
  • IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ACTIVATED/DELETE/ COMPUTERS AND UPDATE ACCOUNT WHEN YOU MOVE LABS OR STOP USING FLOWJO. IF YOU DONT, YOUR PI WILL GET BILLED.

If you want to get access to the paid Flowjo Portal site license here is what you need to do.

  1. Send flowcytometry@cores.utah.edu and email requesting an invite for Flowjo Portal.
  2. Follow instructions in automated email that will be sent to your email address.
  3. Download current version of Flowjo at Flowjo.com
  4. After you sign-in to FlowJo with your FlowJo Portal username/password, FlowJo will communicate your computers HWA to your FlowJo Portal account. You can manage the computers that your account allows access to via your FlowJo Portal account/Authorized Devices.
  5. Update Flowjo portal account settings when you move labs.
  6. Enjoy Flowjo
